Layout, colour and PDF delivery
The official introduction lists RGB, CMYK, spot colours and colour management, with PDF/X export options. Project files use an open XML format, and the About page describes Python scripting. None of this guarantees acceptance by every print shop or recovery of every damaged file.

Lay out one sample page for your intended output
Start with the quick tour, decide the page size and purpose, and use a one-page sample to inspect text, images and spacing. For print work, ask the printer about PDF and colour requirements before choosing export settings. Keep project files and original assets rather than retaining only the final PDF.

Consider Scribus when page organisation is a central part of the document. Stabilising the main text and images before detailed layout can make the work easier to manage than repeatedly redesigning pages while the content is still changing.
An open format does not replace backups or inspection
A readable project file is not proof that every font, image or external resource is included. Before delivery, check that the required assets are present, that their intended use is permitted, and that the exported result is correct. Software openness does not clear rights over website photographs or imported material.
